Arnold Brant Velvet Sport Coat (For Men)

I could barely get into this silly jacket. I am a true 42L...this jacket is at least 3 sizes off. I was told there was a reason some items on this site had such terrific prices...they want to get rid of the merchandise of course. This is the second time in a row now that I have been duped. [...]

The jacket is not sized as marked. I take a 38-40 regular and had to it send back a 38 regular ,which they measured at 39 chest . The main problem is not the chest or shoulders but the waist!!!! The 38 coat was made for a Munchkin. I have a 33 inch waist , weigh 150 lbs, 6' tall but jacket made me look bloated. I purchased a 42 long and it fit perfectly. Otherwise the garment is well made and sylish and the wine color is very nice for special occasions. So buy 4 sizes larger than usual for this fine product or move on because the hassle to find your "proper" size is not worth the effort. Good luck!

I wear a 46L. This jacket felt like a 42L. The sizing is way off. Go up 1 or two sizes

The jacket is lined with white satin which really sets off the dark red velvet.

The jacket was stylish, made well, the wine is a rich color, and appeared high end. The only drawback is that it runs very small - probably 2 or 3 sizes smaller than the actual size to even get a "fit" look (would need to order larger if you wanted it a little loose). I ordered it in Long and the length of the jacket was true to size and a nice length. It was the width of the jacket (shoulders/chest) that made it too small - could not even get it on. I would have possibly ordered it in a larger size if it were available (but it wasn't).

This elegant crushed velvet jacket in black or wine color is for special events, e.g., attending the opera, concerts, upscale parties. My size is 38 short, 5'7", weigh 140 lbs, have an athletic torso with a 33" waist, but only size 42 regular of this sport coat fit me, except for the sleeves that were 2.5" too long. Since this is crushed velvet fabric, I don't yet know whether the seamstress can shorten the sleeves without leaving traces of the 4 decorative button holes at the end of the sleeves. I've ordered several other Arnold Brant sport coats. They were all 2-3 sizes smaller than advertised, yet the sleeves were always 2"-3" too long.

Having read the reviews of the irregular sizing of this sport coat, I took the chance of ordering it a couple of sizes larger than I ordinarily wear. Hence, I ordered a 48R instead of size 44R that usually fits me. As it turns out, the 48R fits just right. While I'm not sure this applies to everyone or the other sizes, it worked out. So do be very aware that this sport coat is not likely sized consistently as labeled. The velvet does have a very distinctive luster.
