Keeps wind off her head and neck, plus it won't blow off or fall off with the scarf tied. Hat looks very nice, has good quality feel and appears well made. Scarf is light weight and soft.

We are experiencing arctic cold weather at this time.

It also fit better than most hats because it helps secure it. When tied in this way it looks a bit like a pony tail bow at the back but tucked under. I wish this hat came in other colors; when I cut my hair short I discovered that the only hats that looked even almost good on me were fedoras, this is the cutest and best fitting I have found. The entire hat runs a little smaller, not around but in scale which fits a woman’s face and head better, I think. It certainly isn’t couture quality but nor is it cheaply made, it is made as well as one I recently paid 75.00 for. If you prefer a fedora look, try this one.
