I bought my first Asolo light-weight boots 2 years ago for day hikes, rock-scrambling. They are great, but were not warm for winter months. So, did a little research and found these warm, water-proof boots and used them immediately, out of the box in January winter conditions. I use these on winter hikes in the country and city-walks through cold, slushy water - these are great for all winter conditions.

I ordered these boots to begin a new job working outdoors as a tree climber/researcher. They arrived in time for my first day, and literally went from the box to my feet, and then hit the trails and trees to work. They have preformed excellently, w almost no break-in needed! I read other reviews that recommended ordering one size smaller, which I did. That was good advice, as the boots fit perfectly one size down. It is mid-January, the weather has been very cold w some snow/ wet conditions. The boots are water proof but not insulated, so I have been wearing 2 pairs of thin, ski-type Smartwool socks... this combo has kept my feet perfectly comfortable, warm & dry. The boots come up over the ankle, which is important as I wear a mechanical foot ascender (rope grab) strapped around the ankle/ foot on one side, so the padding and support are crucial. The lacing system is very good, keeps my foot secure, doesn't let it move around too much in the boot. The traction is great for walking out on tree limbs and hiking over varied terrain. I have not hiked great distances in them, but I have been wearing them all day/ every day for a week now with no sign of fatigue or soreness. The only problem I had was that for the first hour or two one side felt like it had a "crease" or weird fold from how the material bends at the laces across the top of the foot when the foot flexes... it was tight and rubbed enough to bother me. But thankfully within the first wearing it fixed itself and became a non-issue. And as a final note, I ordered the black/ yellow combo... they look very cool! I am ordering another pair, in case these get discontinued or changed... I love these boots, they were the perfect choice for my new job.

This is my fifth pair of Asolo boots and as always, they fit well and have minimal break-in time. I have always worn a 9.5 but this time, the 9.5 was much too big. Sierra Trading Post was great about immediately sending me the 9's, which fit perfectly. In fact, I had them in three days (during holiday season!). Love the company, love the boots.

These were very comfortable and great for daily hiking. They were waterproof for maybe 9 months. Then, the right toe started leaking when immersed in water. I have Asolo Power Matics that are 5 years old with cracked soles and they still didn't leak when I tested them in the kiddie pool. I'll be trying the power matics again even though they are more expensive. If they last 3-4 times as long, they're worth the price.

Ordered these a half size small (I'm a 7.5 and ordered a 7) but they were still pretty big. I exchanged them for a 6.5, and I'm hoping with thick socks they will be okay. The boot itself looks great and seems really durable. The yellow color is a lot nicer in person than in the picture. I really like how the boot wraps your heel/ankle too. I have an old injury in my left ankle and I think this boot will provide great support for weekend backpacking adventures. It's a shame my toes didn't come close to the front of the boot. I'll update the review when the smaller pair comes.

My favorite thing about these boots is the ankle support, and how comfortable they are right out of the box.

I used these boots on the first time on a 7.5 mile hike. This hike required climbing 1000 ft. I only had a slight discomfort on one shoe and I believe ti was the socks I wore and not the boot!

Boots felt great at frist. However, on two mountain hikes my little toes started hurting when going downhill. I do have a wide foot and these boots lack a roomy enough toe space. The top of my little toes rubs. Nice boots just not a good fit for me.
