Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
“I love these boots but I could love them more. They are narrow, especially in the toe box and I have a very std medium width foot. The heel box is fantastic.
Traction is: rock=excellent, dirt=very good, ice=non-existent, hardpack snow=average. The laces require double-knotting or they become untied. Repeatedly. I wish the outsole were more aggressive and wonder about lifespan.
The break-in is relatively short and the boots are moderately comfortable straight from the box. They are becoming more comfortable even after 4 hour hikes and long days. Note: my first pair popped an eyelet on the second day but STP replaced them within a week and the second pair appears to be very durable. Unique to me, I think, the right boot places pressure on my shin from the boot's tongue that is constantly sore. The light weight is fantastic-they feel like a high-top trail runner.
Bottom line: these boots are a fraction from being perfect but they aren't quite there.”
