I bought these boots for my girlfriend and they are really nice but they have a really small opening to get your foot in and out. You have to practically unlace the top two eyelets to have enough room to get in and out of them and since they're not hooks but actual eyelets, it makes it that much more difficult. Once on, they are comfortable but she has a high instep and no matter how loose we made them, she still felt pressure. Plus the fact that she could also feel the seem on the inside against her ankle and after comparing them to her older Asolo Stynger's, which were way more comfortable, we decided to return them. Unfortunately they just weren't perfect enough to keep.

This is the first pair of Asolo boots I ever bought. I love them. I received them this morning and I used them all day. They are very very ..comfortable, they offer very good support, they are very light and I think they look very nice. They are a bit narrow..at the toes... because my foot is normal width..but I hope I will be ok. So far I have been very happy. I wear a size 9 , I ordered a size 10, They are ok with wool socks but I think a size 9.5 would have been just fine..I am very impressed with these boots. I strongly recommend people to buy them.

Good low rise hiking boot. Very comfortable and waterproof. Use it for casual hiking through forest areas and mountain trails. I was not given these hiking boots as a gift and was not compensated in any way for giving my honest opinion about these boots.

  • Question “I am looking for a pair of boots that have a very good arch support without having to put my own in, and have good ankle support without torquing the knees. (I have knee and foot/ankle problems). Which brand/style would work best?”
Asked on 3/26/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer Asolo Amazon hiking boots for women are fantastic...Try them...
Answered on 6/8/2012 12:00:00 AM by explorator from Batemans Bay, NSW, Australia
  • Question “I have a great older pair of Asolo boots. They measure 6.5" in height. I have a pair of non-ankle support "tennis" shoes that measure 4" in height. These Asolo Amazon are listed as 4" in height. I think this must be a mistake as they certainly have enough height to give good ankle support. I would appreciate Sierra Trading to correct the height measurement for these boots.”
Asked on 2/20/2011 12:00:00 AM by B. from Democtatic Republic of Wisconsin
    • Answer The height of these boots from the top of the heel to the top of the boot is 4". The sole is about 1.5" depending on the size, so together it is about 5.5-6".

  • Question “I Have a 4A foot with a 5A heel width and have worn LaSportivas, but need new boots for a hiking trip. I wear a size 10.5 women's. Is this a good brand for me? What other brands should I check out? I have a lower arch and some issues with Morton's neuroma that require an extra metatarsal cushion, too.”
Asked on 7/24/2010 12:00:00 AM by Sue-Z-Q from Indianapolis, IN
    • Answer Asolo does tend to run narrower than most brands in most of their models. They are usually a stiffer shoe as well. These do not have a high arch in them either. The only shoe we have in a narrow width is Item #2502M.

  • Question “I normally wear 7.5 running shoes (7 if pumps as my heels slip out with 7.5) and I'm getting a bunion on the right foot. Are these shoes (in fact any of the Asolo) brands going to fit alright in toe box for that? What size should I wear, go up a size, Also, fyi I plan to be trekking a bit in Nepal this summer (not up Mt. Everest or anything!), so probably need to wear some thicker socks.”
Asked on 6/9/2010 12:00:00 AM by Jackie from Michigan
    • Answer Asolos tend to run slightly narrow for most of their shoes, so you would want a wide width with this brand to accommodate the toe box. Lowa is generally a good brand for width. Wearing thicker socks does add comfort with cushioning so it's generally advised to order a half size up to avoid your toe hitting the end of the boot.
