Reviewed by Jennifer V from Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, June 13, 2013I think this was the 11th or 12th pair I tried while attempting to replace a pair of women's Fugitives (why did they stop making them for us?). I had a pair of Salewa Mountain Trainers that I thought would be great, but they blistered me in less than a mile of uphill hiking. Two days later I slapped these puppies on right out of the box - and over the new blisters - and did 3 miles on the same route! The only reason I quit was not wanting to aggravate my heels. We did 9.5 miles last weekend and the only problem I had was sock related. I immediately ordered another pair to stash away in case anything happens to these. The tread seems more cushy than the other boots I tried but I don't see that being a problem. These are fantastic and my backpacking trip is back on (unless Plan F also catches fire).

I am so happy with these boots! there was no wear in period as i strolled around the house for a couple days wearing these boots and then went on a 9 hour hike! no blisters or pain, kept my feet dry and warm and had great ankle support. Last time i went for a hike with the wrong tramping boots and ended up with wet feet, blisters and a blue toenail....100% improvement. Sierra Trading post provided super affordable pricing and quick delivery, very impressed. im looking forward to my next hike and cant wait to slip these super shoes onto my feet! i did go half a size up and wore an extra pair of socks for a perfect fit. would highly recommend!

I'm now a brand loyal customer. I can't believe I never heard of them until I started shopping at Sierra Trading! Good boots and good customer service from Sierra Trading. Thank you!

The boots not only kept my feet warm, they were comfortable right out of the box ~ requiring no breakin. I hiked in snow for most of the 6 miles and did not experience any wetness to my feet. I have narrow feet and these boots were perfect. I ordered my normal shoe size and it felt a tad large but it gives my feet room to expand come hot, summer hiking. I am a Asolo believer and so is my son, who also has a narrow foot.

Answer GTX is just an abbreviation of Gore-Tex, so yes these are the same model. A 40 2/3 is a size 8.5 in Asolo.
