I have had these boots for awhile because I was planning a hiking trip through Ireland and wanted to make sure I found a good pair of boots I could get used to before the trip, having never owned hiking boots before. I finally settled on Asolo Atlantis because they were one of the few brands that offered higher hiking boots for women. I have problematic ankles so I need a higher boot to give me support and confidence that my ankles won't turn. These boots required no real breaking it, good to go out of the box.
After 8 days trekking through Ireland up steep inclines, over slippery rocks, through mud, streams, in pouring rain I can say these are solid boots. I was the only person on the trip one day whose feet didn't get wet. The only time they finally got wet was when I had to wade through a stream up to mid calf and water got in over the boots, but even then my feet didn't get cold and I didn't get any blisters. Hope to have many more adventures in these boots.
