I bought these for walking to work. My route is half on rough trails through the woods and fields and half on the street. My first problem with the shoes is the fit. These are roomy shoes and with ordinary white athletic socks it is difficult to get the laces tight enough to keep the shoe from twisting on my foot every time I step on a rock or root. There is also little support and cushion in the sole. The sole is hard rubber and on the street it feels like I am walking on wood blocks. I am going to try inserts as another reviewer suggested. This should help the fit and cushioning. The hard soles also give poor traction on wet rocks. I hope the shoes wear well or I will really be disappointed!
