I bought these as a compliment to my older Fugitive's but in wide width which my Fugitive's are not. Living in So Cal, there isn't much of a need for waterproof boots so these are a perfect match and fit. Asolo builds another high quality hiking boot, strong, stiff, comfortable and reliable. I love my Fugitive's and will continue to use them for the conditions that require them and the medium width of them is not a hinderance. But for all other hikes and backpacking adventures, I'll be using these new Echo's because they're that much more comfortable in the wide width for me. If you love Asolo boots, these make for a great pair.

Supportive, super stiff at first but you'll break them in. Eventually. Might get some heel blisters in the process! I'd recommend wearing sock liners. Was hiking up rocky ridge lines in Baja, and scurrying up and down loose scree and they held up like champs. Very protective.

These boots are fairly durable and provide OK support for hiking. UNfortunately, they are difficult to lace up because only the top two sets of eyes are open hooks. This means that it's more difficult to tighten the middle and toe of the boot snugly. Also, these boots are not waterproof but still have the awkward extra flaps of material attached to the tongue which make the boot less comfortable. It's not a bad boot, but you can get other boots (even Asolo boots) for the same price which are better.

Right out of the box these fit. I was concerned about fit after reading the reviews about ordering a wider size but after speaking to an awesome sales rep. i went with size 10m and they are perfect. Also required zero break in. i wore them around a couple days just to see and they were fine. Just did 2 back to back 8 mile hikes with no issues what soever. I am a total Patagonia guy and wear their shoes they are excellent but $$$$. So are these normally. Found them on sale, read the reviews and wearing these for a couple weeks now. Well lets just say these are not going to be my last pair of Asolos. They are made very well and give very good support. I cannot say enough good things about this product.

Nice stiff boot. However, it is a narrow boot. I order a wide boot and it is narrower than other wide boots.

They look cool, but that's about it. They are not comfortable whatsoever. The grommets dig into the side of your ankles My feet hurt from just wearing them through the airport, much less needing to actually use them for hiking... They're expensive. They are durable though, I have yet to notice any defects in them since I've had them.

This is the third pair of ASOLO boots I have purchased (all were on sale). The last two pair were the FUGETIVE model. Both pair were purchased at almost the same time. One pair was used for hiking and outdoors, the other as almost an every-other-day casual shoe, then put into service when the other pairs sole became thin. In short I have had excellent experience with all of them. I recently bought these as I wanted something a little lighter now that summer is almost here in Tucson, it's been 90+ already for 2 days. So far they are true to size, a bit roomier in the toe box since their not waterproof or insulated, and I happen to like that. The construction and quality seems as good as the FUGETIVES, and they are comfortable. The laceing system is the same except for one more "hoop" lace instead of a "hook" at the ankle. Not sure if it matters at this point. In short the last pair I bought lasted 5+ years of almost every kind of hiking from the desert to the mountains here in Az. and even wet stuff in Ark. Everything from high country backpacking and camping @ 0 degrees, to long hot desert hikes and the FUGETIVES were always waterproof as claimed. I will say the few negatives is that the soles does seem to wear out a little quick, but didn't come apart or fall off. They could have a little more cushion, and maybe a better insole.?. They were on sale and I think a great deal all things considered. All 3 of the pair I bought have been "made in Romania", and I don't know if that makes a difference compared to the ones made in China, but I'm sticking with them and will be buying anothe pair soon. Don't hesitate to try em' out, these have been great performers for me.
