Eureka! The footbed of this mens's 8 boot is big enough for my average woman's size 9 foot! I really wanted Asolo quality but they're just so narrow that trying a men's size was my final attempt and the boots fit! I hiked 3 miles in the early morning dew, wearing wool hunting socks and no squished feet! The gaiters kept my ankles dry. Now, if they'd only make some men's wides so I could get some for the males in our family.

I haven't actually worn these in the snow yet, but just bought myself a new pair of traditional, wooden snowshoes and was looking for a lightweight, but relatively warm, supportive boot to wear for recreational snowshoeing. There are lots of opinions on what boots / shoes are most appropriate for snowshoeing but these appear about perfect for what I was looking for.

Not nearly as impressive as most Asolo products. I hoped to use them for snowshoeing with a weekend pack but I am not sure that they have the needed support. I would return them if I paid anywhere near retail.

I put my boots on and walked a few feet to the freezing ocean to make sure they were waterproof. Well they are! These boots are super warm and have worked well for me on long hikes in snow or shallow water. These boots also have great ankle support really giving you a traction advantage.

Wore in Austria after skiing and for general wear. Very happy with product. Normally I have a breaking in period with boots/shoes. I haven't had with Asolo

I originally bought the Alliance, but when I received them they had zero insulation in them (even though they were advertised as a winter boot) so I exchanged them for these. The fit of the boot is great (note that I have a fairly narrow foot), but I do wish it had a bit more arch support. Although I haven't had an opportunity to use these in the back country I did get to play with the kids in the snow in them for a few hours. I was a little concerned because the boots are so lightweight that they may not provide the warmth I was looking for, but to my surprise they are quite warm for how thin and light they actually are. They look great, but I do have some concerns about how durable they will be over time because they appear to be made out of essentially sneaker material. As I said, I spent several hours in the snow in these and my feet stayed warm and dry. The one thing I am not a big fan of on these is the "gator" at the top of the boot; I thought that it would be a really neat feature, but as it turned out it's just kind of awkward. overall very satisfied with this boot just hope it holds up.
