I don't really climb, but I live in Colorado and do plenty of hiking and walking around. These shoes are great for that. Good traction, color, and fit. I've read reviews about the shoe being stiff and too high on the ankle bone. This was true but only for the first few days. They break in beautifully in no time. Definitely get a half size smaller than you usually buy. Asolos always run a 1/2 size big.

These were recommended by an avid hiker. Perfect for work or play. I have had numerous people stop and ask me about the shoes. Whether it is the color, design or simply the look of them, I happily tell them of the shoes and Sierra Trading Co.

The back of this shoe doesnt dip like other shoes in this category, and so it digs into the tendon, very painful. This shoe also feels like it has less cushion than normal. I've always been a fan of ASOLO, and was very disappointed in this shoe.

The shoes came the day I left for vacation, 1 week of hiking in the Ozarks. I took them along and put them on, right out of the box.

The toe box and foot area is very nice. However, it is tight and stiff and rubs on the ankle area. It helps if you wear thick socks.

I bought them for the tread as I have some rocky slopes to deal with on a weekly basis. They are more than a half size large. It takes more than bulky socks to compensate. First day I wore them my feet began to hurt and my bone spurs kicked up. I bought Kiwi Maseur orthotics, which fit on top of the shoes' own pads and my toes still have plenty of room. The Kiwi inserts make a huge difference and will allow me to use the shoes. Any recommendation I made would be qualified on the above experience.

I actually bought this shoe for small hikes but decided to wear to work first. I am on my feet and running a lot in a big assisted living building (one area is on carpeted concrete) answering resident call lights and after 7 hrs I realized that I had a sizable blister on my heel. Hence, was glad I had another pair of shoes with me. I wore them again with a much thicker pair of socks and they seem to be okay. Am going on a short hike today, so will put them to the test again. I hope it works as I love the weight and comfort otherwize. I expected I would as I have a pair of 750 also that I've had for 8 years.

The shoe is a good sturdy shoe. I just wore them for much of the week at Kids Across America Camp in near Branson. Rocky trails, a lot of thick gravel to walk on. Had I worn them the whole week, I probably would have avoided spraining my ankle! The heel is cut kind of high. If you have problems with the heel of a shoe rubbing, either plan on wearing higher socks, bandaids or don;t get this shoe! Overall, I like this shoe!
