Closeouts. It's the Gore-Tex® guarantee that feet stay dry, and these Asolo Everland GV hiking boots demonstrate it with their waterproof breathable Gore-Tex® membrane -- a wall that blocks moisture but lets perspiration escape. Vario Asoflex technology combines a flex-correcting TPU shank and molded EVA board for comfort.

I've worn Asolo before and these are just as good. One comment said "Narrow heel" and another said "Wide in the front". Perfect for me! With a little better arch support, and a bit more cushioning in the heel, I'd give these a 5.

I mainly wear these in the winter with some gaitors and wool socks. I've had no problems with my feet staying dry and warm, either walking off road in wet conditions or snowshoeing. I get moderate ankle support and comfort all day long. For the price, you can't go wrong. Four stars only because I'm tough on grading.

Wow. I was looking for a lightweight pair of hiking boots, as I was planning longer hikes over varying terrain. I had bought a pair of Teva hiking boots, and although they were ok, I was not convinced they were the ones. So I ordered these Asolo's. Upon trying them on, it was obvious how much of a higher quality boot they were. Not only more comfortable, but hands above with the quality of materials and construction. If you are looking for a great price on a great boot, I would highly recommnend the Everland.

These are almost a rock-climbing shoe, with attendant advantages and disatvantages. I use them for scrambliing around the rocky coast of maine, where their excellent traction and lack of toe-jam makes them good for me. They are (as others have pointed out) hard to get into (bigger loop at heel would help) and unnecessarily narrow in the heelplate.
