I bought these to try as new backpacking boots. So far I have taken them on a trial 12 mile day hike on moderate terrain with a light pack and they were great. They are very sturdy, comfortable, waterproof, and handled wet rocks quite well. They are lightweight and required almost no break in. I was...

This is the last pair of hiking boots I had and I will probably continue to buy this same brand, and pretty close to same model. As long as they make them, these are my boots. I'm an average hiker, living in the Green Mountains, and use them for all hikes small and big (largest is probably a multi-day Acadia trip, smallest being hour-long hikes near home). Great seams and water proofing, killer tread to grip slick rocks or roots, and, most important for me, a very solid and snug fit around my narrow and weakly ankles, that help me keep a steady pace and not fall or roll my ankles (which otherwise happens.)
My last terrific pair of Asolos kicked it after about 3 years, Yosemite, and a worn-down tread. This pair I'm just ready for some more padding, but they've lasted at least 3 years too at this point. The price on this deal is pretty good - I have never paid less than $150, but its' so worth it.

This boot is great around town and for the hills. I feel very solid on icy terrain and even mud. The boot has excellent support and is very warm. A little break in is required. The first day I received these boots I went on a seven-mile hike to test them. Very happy with them!

This boot is so comfortable. For starters, the entry is smooth and easy. With one gentle pull on the laces you can achieve the perfect tension for tying. The foot bed is wonderful and the weight is medium, not a clunker by any means. If soiled, they can be rinsed off easily or let dry and brush lightly to remove dirt.

These are nice boots that offer good ankle support and a solid sole for hiking. Does run 1/2 size large like other reviewers say but cotton socks are no bueno when really hiking anyway as you will get blisters. And I'm going to try to wear them this winter snow skating which will also accommodate some warm socks but still allow me to feel the board unlike heavier boots and clunkier Sorrels.
