Reviewed by jay from newzealand on Friday, May 03, 2013wow great boots ,my first hike was 6hours in these boots and they perfomed well like they said they would,my feet were warm and comfy and at the end of climbimg a mountain i was in no hurry to take them off my feet were dry after crossing streams ,,i highly recommend these boots ,buy a half size up than your normal size they are perfect fit.thx sierra trading post for a world class product its high in the ranks.

I've only ever owned Asolo hiking boots and unless some unfortunate thing befalls them, I will ONLY own Asolo boots in the future. There was no break-in period necessary for these particular boots for me. Anyone that is not used to having some stiffer ankle support (higher up on the ankles) will likely feel differently than I, but because I am familiar with the Asolo brand, I welcome the new stiffness and awesome waterproof features. My old pair actually lasted me a solid 8+ years until they got a pinhole somewhere along the way which began allowing a bit of water into my right toe box. Other than that, support and tread stayed quite good. Finally buckled and bought a new pair of these FSN 70s and there is NO looking back for me now! Even bought a pair of Men's for my husband and he is enjoying his as well! Thank you, Asolo, for continuing to make a great hiking boot. And thank you, STP, for the great deals you offer us consumers!

Even my hiking guru praised them for the good quality. But even he couldn't do anything about that spot. The padding around the ankles is not very thick.

These were all wrong for me-- too sloppy in heel and not wide enough in front. A little too stiff, too, and a bit too short (size 10-- I wear an 11 in merrels and a 9 1/2 in scarpa and garmont). Wished the'd worked. Good boot just not for me.
