I am looking for shoes/boots for a hiking/camping trip my family is planning this summer. I was told to order a half size to a size larger than I wear, so I ordered a full size larger and I felt like they were good. I really liked the boots, but the ankle was way too tight for me. I broke my leg a few years ago and have a screw in my ankle and the boot pushed on it uncomfortably. For someone who needs ankle support, they seemed like they would be good. I have realized that I probably need hiking shoes instead.

Be careful with the sizing. I normally order an 8.5 in a hiking boot, but was warned these run big, so I ordered an 8. It fits well lengthwise, but know that the toe end runs narrow and the heel end runs wide.

I have been in the landscaping business for about 13 years and have used these boots for 12 of them. I found out very quickly how miserable it is to have wet feet in my business, so ever since my first pair I have stuck with these. They are sturdy and waterproof and don't make my feet sweat even on the hottest of summer days. They are lightweight, which is good because I put a lot of miles on them. They give ankle support which has kept me from turning an ankle when stepping in holes or off of curbs. Avid backpackers/hikers have even noticed my boots and asked me how I came to buy my first pair. My first pair came from a camping/outdoors type of store and ever since I have bought from Sierra Trading Post.

I took the advice and ordered 1/2 size smaller than I usually take in boots, and they fit perfect. I do have narrower feet with a higher arch and I don't need to put in a support. I wore these once around the neighborhood before hiking in the woods and they were very comfortable with no blisters! They are great looking boots too!

I did my research and bought this boot a size smaller as I read that it ran too large. That worked out well for me because they are a perfect fit now. I also read in someone's review that they weren't water-proof at all...well I decided to test that review the other day after a warm thaw after a snow at the bottom of a large hill where the river ran. So, in the grossest of mud and water, my boots went in just above the top of the boot and voila, my feet stayed dry. As a daily hiker, and former military member, I would recommend these boots. Yes, they do take a bit of breaking-in, but remember, they aren't leather, and the material used is good quality, so you can't expect a perfect, ready to use product. They look great also (I am a woman). And after daily 4 mile treks into the woods, my feet are always comfortable (yes, that's with the break-in period)

I ordered a 1/2 size down as others suggested. They fit very well. They are a bit stiff but I think they will break in with time. At least I am not suffering with hot spots after my first 4 mile hike.

Great boots and I have been wearing Asolo for years. These boots, however, do run big and I had to exchange them. Good experience exchanging, though.

I wear these every day, twice a day for long hikes with my big Airedale. We are on varied terrain. They are a fairly stiff boot. There was no breaking in period however. They are very light weight and yet meaty and supportive. The laces come loose often, not so great, but I think they will eventually stay tight with time's grit on the surface of them, hah!

Very comfortable right out of the box, fit well, good support and no blisters after a half-day trial hike. These are sturdy and performed well on rocky/uneven terrain. Haven't worn in substantially wet conditions yet so can't comment on that aspect of these boots, but based on other items I've owned that feature Gore-Tex, I am confident these boots will also keep my feet dry.
