I had tried on Asolos in a store, but in a different model. Based on that, I ordered 7.5 while I usually take an 8 in hiking boots and running sneakers. I also ordered an 8 just to be sure, but those are going back. These seem light and rather comfortable, but I've only worn them inside. I wanted Gore-tex and a boot that will stand up during multi-day backpacking trips. These boots are just high enough to protect and support the ankle, but the one place I'm a bit concerned about is the tying system. I'm used to having three lace "hooks" up each side of the ankle. These only have one hook at the very top which I fear may be an issue tightening the heal in correctly. Though, it seems that I can tighten them enough, only hiking in them will tell. Also, I'm a bit nervous that the soles are not Vibram. The deal was just too good to pass up.
