i expect boots to last many seasons and expect to not have to deal with blisters, etc. I bought a size larger than I needed, and they were still too small.

This is an amazing pair of boots. I wore these on a four mile hike right after I got them and I didn't have any blisters or hot spots. These boots kept my feet completely dry when I was hiking in the rain, but I haven't had the chance to see how they would hold up to stream crossing.

Overall I am satified with the boot, however my right ankle(outer bone) hurts after wearing the boot for 5 minutes - this is still true after 20 hours of breakin. I now pad my right ankle - seems to work, but is a hassle.

Boots seem ideal for for rough country hiking with a light to medium load. Very short break-in period. I haven't used in extremely wet conditions but in light rain and morning dew will keep my socks dry.

I was initially impressed with the fit. I had plenty of room in my toes and the boots made my foot feel very supported. I developed heel blisters breaking them in to the trail on day one of a three-day hike in the Alaskan wilderness this summer, and was sad to realize they also produced some "hot spots" on the balls of my feet. I spray-waterproofed them well before we set out, which was good because they didn't leak in the rain or during watercrossings. Despite the initiation blisters, overall they're solid boots, and I am hopeful that they will only improve with time.

I am a fairly true size 9, and my feet swam in these. Surprising given all the other reviews. Re-ordered the 8.5's, and they fit perfectly. No breaking in necessary. Nice light alternative to my heavy leather gore-tex hikers. Will use these for a long time!

This is my second pair of Asolo Goretex Hiking Boots. My first pair was great, no break in period. However, this pair was a little big and I didn't realize it until I had hot spots on my heels. My friend and I climbed Mt. Cammerer in Smokys, 3100', and I had to change into other boots because of hot spots. I put in superfeet and plan to try them again on a shorter hike.

I love these boots! I live in Seattle and do a lot of hiking in the Cascades and Olympics. I have a bad knee and need good ankle support. I also need good gore-tex boots that have good traction on uneven and steep terrain. I have never worn Asolo and decided to try them out. I had purchased another brand and had to return them as I was very disappointed. When I tried on the Asolo boots, I found them to be very comfortable. They fit perfectly. I first wore them at Mt. Rainier and they were great: great traction, great support and my feet felt great!!! I also think they are very cool looking!! I am very pleased!
