I first ordered a pair of Vasque boots because I have owned them before. Before I wore them I read other reviews on these and decided to order a pair for myself and a men's pair for my husband. I rarely wear anything smaller than an 8.5 but ordered an 8 after reading other reviews. I have plenty of room in the 8 and they are an excellent fit. We live in Wisconsin and wore them today for a two hour hike where we encountered uneven terrain, crackling ice, water, mud, and snow. We were both delighted with the phenomenal performance, comfort and support of these boots. Another reviewer said that the light color caused concern regarding getting dirty. I was amazed at how everything seemed to slide off them and they look very clean.

I use these for geological expeditions. In the snowy outdoors but mostly in the desert. They need no breaking in, are not heavy and so comfortable I could wear them everyday. I completely understand why they were rated No# 1 .

I have purchased two pair of these boots. Love them! The traction is fabulous on loose talus/scree and I will probably buy a third pair soon so that I don't ever wear these out. I have previously had problems with blisters in many other makes and models, but the boots allow ventilation and make them very comfortable.

I agree with the recommendation to order 1/2 size smaller. I wore these for a 5-day canoe-camping trip, with dozens of portages in which they were submerged. They drained well once out of the water and dried a bit overnight, so were comfortable to wear again in the morning, even if damp. These are great boots, especially at this price!

I bought these boots with the intention of wearing them everyday to work on a trail crew. First day out I stepped into a puddle without thinking, and found that my feet were soaked. They are not Gortex and don't have Vibram soles. After wearing them twice, the soles had already shown wear. They are however comfortable and would be very good hiking boots. However, I feel they'd wear down easily. Overall, I was unsatisfied, but it was my own fault for jumping the gun and buying them without fully researching all of the details.
