Asolo FSN 85 Hiking Boots (For Women)

Do a ton of hiking. It's not unusual for me to get in over 100 miles in a month of Colorado mountain hikes. Purchased these because my last pair fell apart too fast, thought these appeared sturdy enough to endure my activities. Took them out on a 15 miler, and had to change shoes half way through. Far too uncomfortable, and I do not have sensitive feet. I will continue to use them here and there, but they made my entire body hurt after only half way through the hike. I've already replaced them, trying hard to find the perfect boot for me. They do run big, and I ordered a half size down based upon reviews here and elsewhere.

Hiking, country walks ---love ankle support, style and quality!! Sierra has great customer support and you will get your exchange fairly quickly (less than one week). Another reason why I will not hesitate to buy again. Like I said, they run 1/2 too big, but once I got the correct size..........maaaaarvelous!!

When I first wore them, the ankle bone of my foot was sore and so I loosened the laces. I also had bit of pain at the top of my foot that began to shoot up my right shin. I waited a few days before wearing them again. I put a Dr. Scholl's insert as, although the boots are the correct size, my toe was shifting about & sore from the friction. The sole of the shoe is very hard, not cushioned -- a much harder impact than a running shoe or my last pair of hiking boots (L.L. Bean). I walk 2 miles into work uphill a couple times a week & will take longer walks in the summer. The boots are starting to feel more comfortable but, for me, they are taking a while to break in.

I will be hiking in Peru next month and in Yosemite later. These boots felt comfortable the first time I put them on and required no break in, although I have been wearing them a lot. Love the boots.

Haven't gotten a chance to really wear these boots a lot yet, but tried them on when I got them, and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable, doesn't feel like they'll need to be broken in, and they look great too. :o) I'm betting they'll be very durable, as I know Asolos tend to be well-constructed. Gave my hub a pair of Asolos for Christmas (also bought from STP), and he loves them. Wears them almost every day, and he has high arches and wide, shortish feet. Overall, great boots, excellent price, and as always, I'm extremely pleased with STP in every way.

Excellent shoe for anyone who is an extreme hiker. Did a 14er in them and they were fabulous. A great durable, supportive well above average hiking boot. Great with snow shoes as well. Wore them to work all day and they were comfortable. Just a great shoe.

Great shoes, I'm a surveyor and use them everyday for work after 2years this is the second pair I buy, they are very comfortable and hold the feet very well

I live in boots so I know what works for me. Asolo has been a favorite for years, I haven't been able to wear my first pair out (not from lack of trying) and I purchased them years ago. The FSN 85 was comfortable out of the box and provides what I expect from an Asolo boot. I like a supportive versitile boot I can wear all day, wherever they take me. I probably wouldn't consider these with a heavy pack but for everyday hiking or work or simply running around, they rock (also comfortable for short runs)! I normally stick with men's boots for the extra width room but this women's style is perfect!!

I originally intended to use these boots for an extended backpacking trip, but I decided at the last minute to instead use my similar (but leather) Asolo boots because of increased insulation and water resistance. These boots are really great, though. They're comfortable, easy to break in, lightweight, and durable - they've served me well backpacking in snow, rain, and harsh terrain (but don't expect them to hold out water in river crossings). I highly recommend them!
