Pros: Seem very stable, extremely waterproof, and pretty comfortable. Protect well against rocks and uneven terrain with a stiff, thick sole. Seem to keep feet fairly cool in hot weather.
Cons: Seem to run about a half size large. I have previously worn Keen Hiking boots and always wore a size 13. In these, I ordered a 13 wide (Keens run wide) and they were a bit roomy, especially on length. I changed the sole inserts to a thicker one and problem solved!
Can't speak to durability yet, but they look like they will hold up well.

I had the waterproof shoes for over 3 years. Hiked, camped, and everyday use in the field as an environmentalist and I just found that it was time for another pair. I went with the waterproof hiking boots for more versatility. I am glad I did. I purchased and put Asolo to the ultimate test, and they earned my loyalty. I received my boots and comfort immediately out of the box. Did I mention they are sharp looking too. Stood in shallow streams and no roblems with wet feet. I have even run in them. Outstanding! The workmanship and quality are impeccable and I will keep buying this brand, and I have recommended to everyone I know! The size was exact. I have had my feet REALLY measured and ordered that size and they could not fit better. You simply cannot lose purchasing this brand. I am thinkingof investing in the company. That is how much I believe they are the greatest!

These boots have worked out well so far. I initially purchased them in a medium width, which is normal for me. They were to narrow. The wide size seems just right

This is my third pair. The FSN 95 is the best three season boot I have ever owned. I have even pushed the envelope and done some winter mountaineering in them with extra layers. I am actually still using pair number two but bought these because I fear they will soon be out of stock in my size and don't want to pay out the nose when I need a new pair. I am an avid hiker and mountaineer from extreme desert scrambling to high alpine peaks. To be honest I am a LUM-OX very and heavy footed and would be the perfect test dummy for any gear, if it lasts more than a day on me it's got to be good! I have gotten about 2 1/2 years of use on each pair with thousands of trail and off trail miles, I eventually wore down the sole's and wanted some new tread. ( I believe that I wound have gotten even more tread life if I hadn't done so much extreme desert scrambling, those rocks are like coarse sandpaper.) The gortex has never failed nor the construction of the boot. I am still using pair number one as a ranch work boot on muddy wet days when I feed the horses. My Plan is to eventually have these resoled when they are no longer in stock. They have have a stiff shank and provide amazing stability over varied terrain. ORDER ONE SIZE UP.

Can't say enough good-things about this boot! I purchased a pair for myself, and my son. The same night, my Father ordered a pair. Excellent support, construction, grip, and fit! This is our first dedicated hiking boot, and we hope to get in some extended hikes this summer.

Question
“Can these boots be resoled?||One of my main concerns is durability, and as such I would like to know how the sole wears.||If the sole wear is quick, should I invest a little bit more and but a vibram soled boot that can be resoled?||Thanks”

I have a pair that I week almost every weekend for the last 2 years. I hike an average of 10 to 12 miles sometime more a weekend. The soles are still in pretty good shape.|They can be resoled. there are a couple of places in the US that can resole them. However the cost is high enough that for not much more you can replace them. The links below are to blog articles I wrote. One is on hiking boots the boots in the photo at the end are the pair I have been wearing since 2010. The other blog is about resoling this type of boot.|http://hub.sierratradingpost.com/blogs/stp-gear-doctor_kevin/gear-guide-choosing-right-hiking-boots-3093/|http://hub.sierratradingpost.com/blogs/stp-gear-doctor_kevin/gear-guide-resoling-molded-soled-hiking-boots-3608/
