These boots can tackle mountain trails, streams, sand, muck, factory floors and anything your back yard can throw at them with minimal break in time. My first pair lasted for 6 years of every day use, then resoled for another 4 before the uppers gave out. You won't be disappointed if you buy these boots.

Lots of style.. However they are a bit too hard on the feet after a while.

The first pair I purchased had a defect in the heel area of the interior that was tearing up my foot. I contacted customer service and they quickly exchanged the boots at no cost. The new pair is solid and they're mostly broken in after a couple of weeks. I went running in them in 90 degree heat and didn't have a problem with my feet overheating. I've carried up to 45 pounds with them with no problems and the ankle support is effective. They are still a little slippery on wet mossy rock but I expect that to go away as the grip has gotten better progressively. I took other reviewers' advice and purchased my actual size but with a WIDE width and they fit perfectly. They are true to size but narrow.

These are the second pair of these and while I don't need to replace the first pair they are so good I'm stocking up. I've done some hard miles through less than ideal terrain and they have always been comfortable, warm as well as supportive to give you a very secure feeling.

I got a great deal but they are worth way more and worth it. felt a little stiff at first but the first walk around the block was enough to break them in. the medium width was fine for me and the length was true to fit for me. But is a little lighter than I thought because they look and are well built with good support. Not a lightweight however. Best for someone who wants to do some moderate to heavier back packing or want some support without being too heavy

  • Question “I'm currently overseas but will be home in August. So there's no way for me to try these on nor for me to return them if they don't fit. So can you tell me more about the fit of the boot? I currently wear some Merrells that are 8.5 W and although they're not tight on me, they don't hurt my feet either. There's actually a lot of room in front of my toe. I noticed there are 8.5s for these but no more W. Do you think they will still fit me? Thanks.”

  • Question “Can these boots be resoled?||One of my main concerns is durability, and as such I would like to know how the sole wears.||If the sole wear is quick, should I invest a little bit more and but a vibram soled boot that can be resoled?||Thanks”
Asked on 11/27/2012 12:00:00 AM by Mike the Frugal from The boonies, Somewhere
    • Answer I have a pair that I week almost every weekend for the last 2 years. I hike an average of 10 to 12 miles sometime more a weekend. The soles are still in pretty good shape.|They can be resoled. there are a couple of places in the US that can resole them. However the cost is high enough that for not much more you can replace them. The links below are to blog articles I wrote. One is on hiking boots the boots in the photo at the end are the pair I have been wearing since 2010. The other blog is about resoling this type of boot.|http://hub.sierratradingpost.com/blogs/stp-gear-doctor_kevin/gear-guide-choosing-right-hiking-boots-3093/|http://hub.sierratradingpost.com/blogs/stp-gear-doctor_kevin/gear-guide-resoling-molded-soled-hiking-boots-3608/
