Undoubtedly a good boot and a good value, but I had to return it to get a half size larger than I usually wear. Will rate the boot when I get the larger one.

Bought these for the Southern California desert (Sonoran). Desert washes, hills, and valleys the norm. Terrain ranges from desert pavement to sharp sedimentary rock. Worried about over heating in 100 degree heat. Not a problem. Look narrow out of the box; yet, that wasn't a problem either. Logged about 15 miles on them first trip (Cut me some slack...it was 100 degrees. Although, I must say, you guys humping through Iraq and Afgan...I'm not worthy.) My intial observation is that these boots will do. Need to ascertain how long the tread will last. Front of the toe showing wear. Then again, I'm on sharp rock. Front toe protection is good. Pulled a couple of Homer Simpson going down hill. If the sole stays on the boot, I'll be satisfied. I'll post again after I log 100 miles.

I wasn't sure about these hikers when I first heard of them but I bought a pair just to see. I have been nothing but TOTALLY satisfied with my pair. For every season but winter, I wear them EVERY day. I've had mine for 3 years and they look a little worn but compared to anything else, they are holding up GREAT! No loose seams, no leaks, no sore spots. The only problem I can fault them on is the tread is getting a bit worn down (which is only a testament to how comfortable they are and how durable they are). To tell the truth I wish I had purchased 5 pairs when they were only $120. I've backpacked, forded streams, day hiked, mowed the lawn, cut firewood, cleaned horse corrals, and lounged in my back yard with them. NEVER any sore spots, not from the first day. Lateral support gives nothing less than total confidence on side slopes. I can't say enough about these little hikers. I wish I had found them 30 years ago. Try them, you won't regret a second of it.

I bought a pair of these boots for myself and my son. Both pair seem to be excellent. I was worried that the Gore-Tex would be too warm in the summer but found that hasn't been the case so far. I haven't taken them on a hiking trip yet so I don't know how they will do once put to a true test.

They seem like high quality footwear, just too narrow for my foot. I went with Saloman Quest 4D

Very pleased with boot. Appears well made. Size is true to fit. Will know more in three months or so. Only one minor complaint, the laces are too long. I have to triple knot them. Why do they do that? Oh, one more complaint -- what boot will I buy when the FSN95 is discontinued? Maybe I should have bought two pair.

Great boots. My 3rd pair of Asolos. Had Fugitive twice before these FSN95s. These FSN95 are lighter, slightly lower at the heel, with slightly less bulk at ankle support. Slightly more arch than the Fugitive has, which I like. Not for wide feet - narrow footbed.
