This is my 4th pair of Asolo FSN 95. I have nasty feet, low arch so I need support, corns, so I need width without rubbing. I abuse these boots on trails from Grand Canyon to Costa Rica to AT to Rock Mts. Doing 5-day backcountry in Yellowstone in July. They are trail-ready right out of the box. Great grip on rocks and roots, never had a blister, completely waterproof. Perfect boot for backpacking.

My weird shaped foot likes this boot. I have had several pairs over the past ten years. They require zero break in. My first hike in a new pair is 6 miles. The rocks of Sedona do wear through the soles a bit quickly, but I get great traction on the rocks.

Bought these over the winter for summer use. Wore on easy walks and around town a few weeks to break in. Over past two weeks tried them on trails. Nothing too technical, but a good test on a trail that ascends from 9,000 to 10,000 feet in the first hour. Fine going up. Coming down major hot spots under balls of feet. I'm a toned 195 lbs. tried with several different pairs of top quality hiking socks. Maybe they're fine for lighter hikers. Way too little cushion for me, though. I'll use them for shorter, outings and casual wear. But will now have to spend extra to buy something else with more padding.

These are the second pair of Asolo boots I have used. Even though I ordered wide boots both times they feel a bit narrow across the toes. After wearing them everyday for a couple of weeks they break in fine. For me these boots need breaking in before going on any extended hiking trips unless you want blisters. My first pair lasted for four years, the last year I wore them as work boots five days a weeks besides using them for backpacking and day hikes. During that time both soles wore through and the toes developed holes all the way through to my socks, what can you ask for after four years of pretty heavy use. With all that said I purchased another pair so I think they preform well for my needs.

Great Backpacking Boot. This is my second pair. I got the Wide version this time but it doesn't feel much wider. I still rate them as one of the more comfortable boots I have owned. I backpack regularly and generally log 8-10 miles a day with a 30 pound pack.

I was hoping to have received a reply to the email I had already sent regarding the high level of satisfaction I experienced in having received my new Asolo hiking boots so rapidly: less then 6 days between ordering and receiving here in Sydney Australia!! I am looking forward to testing these boots, especially the soles cos I tend to wear out the soles of previous hikers quite rapidly considering the tough terrain I walk in! Using the resources available on the Sierra website, especially the foot size guide (Braddock I think it is) the boots fitted perfectly.

If you have high arches then you will need to buy an insole to go with these boots.
Also buy the boots a full size larger than your normal size to ensure that your toe does not hit the front of the boot the entire way down your hike. They will still feel and work great; you won't regret it.
