I bought the boots to replace an old favorite. I have only worn the boots for day to day use so far, but plan to put them through a 120 mile hike through the North Casscades in Washington. After reading reviews, I ordered a wide (normally I am regular fit). The wide is perfect for me.

I have been looking at these boots for years and just couldn't pull the trigger on them because they were expensive. I love Sierra Trading Post because I don't care if these are the latest and greatest. They were good enough to win awards when they came out, and after a couple of days of break-in, they are very comfortable. The sole seems softer than a Vibram, but they have more grip. It's a trade off. It seems that if I were to wear them on pavement daily, they would wear down quickly.

This design has been around for 6-8 years or so, and it is still going strong with new color schemes. The closeout is for old color schemes. This is a proven design and represents an excellent value unless you really want the new color scheme -- personally I prefer this older scheme with less bright red. The boot is excellent. The only drawback that I can identify is that I wish the inner sole had more cushioning under the front of the foot. The hard foot bed is OK but leaves the foot a little tender after a day or two in these boots. I can probably solve this with a new inner sole.

I owned the Asolo FSN 95 boots for almost a year and thoroughly enjoyed the product Asolo pushed out. I've had my eye on these for some time because after many uses of the FSN, I found the ankle support to be lacking. Plus, the FSN have more suade than the Fugitives. Lacing up the Fugitives felt right from the start and now it is a matter of breaking them in. I used these bad boys for everyday use (I live in Anchorage, AK) + for the many hikes available. I trust in this brand and their workmanship. This is a killer deal you won't find anywhere else. I really appreciate the narrowness of Asolo's boots as I have a 10.5-11 sized foot that is fairly narrow.

These boots are perfect for any kind of hiking or outdoor activities. I have a friend who has had his for five years and still wears them to his construction job every day. I do believe it is time for a new pair but five years is amazing! Couldn't be happier with these boots.

I'm an avid hiker with severe foot pronation; these boots are great. I'm normally a size 9.5 and ordered a 10. Had to return them for a 10.5 and they fit fine.

I like most everything about this boot, except the fact it didn't fit my foot. In this regard it is in good company as many quality boots don't fit my odd shaped foot well. I had to return these and am happy with the Asolo FSN 95's that I got in exchange. Things I like about the Fugitive are the combination of strong support with flexibility. Also, I really liked the locking lace hook at the ankle. It allows the lace tension to be set up differently between the lower laces and ankle laces. Good boot for backpacking.
