    These are great boots!!! I normally wear an 8 wide but got a 9 wide and was glad i did. I wear 2 pairs of socks when hiking and they are a good fit with my light inner sock and heavy wool outer sock. The wide is not as wide as other makers wide. A regualr width would have been way too narrow. The boots are great boots for backpacking. There is a difference between a backpacking boot and a hiking boot. Most hiking boots are light weight and don't offer the extra support needed for a heavy pack, plus the sole is usually so flexy that by the end of the day your feet are stone bruised from feeling every rock you stepped on. NOT THESE!!. they have a nice rigid sole that gives you a stable platform on which to walk. Every step feels just like the last even when walking on rocks all day. Don't get me wrong, they are flexible but the rigidity after a long days hike is appreciated. Homerun Asolo!!!!

    Seven year old pair worn out from use and somehow were no longer waterproof (?). Had to get another pair, as these boots ROCK. Have used them to knock off 6 of the highest High Peaks in the Adirondacks. Wear to work on one part-time job (outdoors). Feel safe in them. The price on sale was quite unbelievable. Probably should have bought two for when these wear out.

    I took the boots out for a day hike right out of the box. They were comfortable and didn't really need any breaking in. I didn't have any issues with my feet getting wet in very muddy/wet conditions. I dig my new boots.

    I wear these boots every day at work. They took a few days to break in, but they are the best hiking boots i've ever owned. Very comfortable, plenty of ankle support, and water proof.
