Great boot

Broke these in on a 2-day 13 mile backpacking trip and they performed wonderfully. Trail conditions varied from 1 foot of snow to slippery rocks to mud to dry leaves and I could not have asked for a better boot. They are lightweight with a sturdy sole and completely waterproof: The Gore-Tex lining kept my feet dry but more importantly, the boots themselves did not absorb water like many Gore-Tex lined boots. I found a new confidence rock hopping as the rubber was quite sticky: the traction was equally impressive in mud. Worth the $225 MSRP and a steal at the STP price. Sizing is accurate. An 8 ½ was recommended by an outfitter but I opted for the 8 as I like my feet to fit the boot with very little movement (toe box was slightly cramped, but not uncomfortable). Longevity will determine if I purchase these again but my initial impression is “fantastic.”
