Solid boot. Have some back of the heel abrasion issues but maybe my aggressive style or wrong sock.

These boots fit beautifully right out of the box. Need to make sure you order wide; the normal width Asolos are made quite narrow. Very rugged and well made. Also commend them for not making them in China.

We hike weekly in Montana and Utah all year long. Generally 4-18 mile day and over night hiking and these boots are awesome. Very comfortable and can wear them all day long.

OK, be forewarned, these boots do run narrow so if you need a D width you will want the wide ones. I have narrow feet so these fit perfectly but would be too tight with heavy socks, especially after I replaced the insole. I was a bit concerned about the materials used for these boots as I have normally preferred full grain leather uppers but these are surprisingly sturdy boots with stiff heel counters. Not like you'd find at Wally-world for sure! I really like the toe caps as I hike in areas with a lot of rocks. I also like the fact that these are not gore-tex boots. Don't need the extra waterproofing or extra heat here in Az. The first thing you want to do is make sure you try these on in the afternoon after your feet have had a chance to swell. In the morning your feet are about a half size smaller! Make sure you walk around in them inside until you're sure you like the fit so you can easily return them if necessary. The next thing you want to do is get rid of the uncomfortable insoles. I have yet to see a boot come with a good insole regardless of price. The insoles fit tight and are a bit difficult to grab hold of but a bicycle tire removal tool makes it a snap. I really like the Powerstep Pinnacles. Lastly, you would be well served pairing some quality smartwool or Coolmax type socks with these boots. Cotton socks are not a good choice. The lightweight socks are great for summer hiking. I've only had these boots for a few weeks so I can't address longevity but I have had other Asolo boots in the past and they were a well made and durable boot.
