“This is a very stiff, sturdy boot for those that want one, ideal for off-trail or rough terrain backpacking and mild mountaineering. Should work well with strap-on crampons, not quite as stiff as a true mountaineering boot (and not insulated), but are much stiffer than usual backpacking boots. These are actually even a bit lighter than more typical Asolo hiking boots like the tps520, despite being substantially sturdier. If you want your hiking boots to have a lot of flex, these are not for you. If you want rugged, waterproof boots for harsh terrain, these should be good. Caveat: I haven't had these long enough to really determine long-term durability, but based on the extensive rubber randing and my experience with other Asolo boots, it should be good.”
