Great boots for peakbagging and off-trail hiking that protect and support your feet on rough terrain.

This is a very good boot. I purchased these because I have one very weak ankle because of my past life as a basketball player. Great support for the ankle and entire foot, almost no break in and lighter than I expected for a boot of this type. Looking forward to climbing Mt. Harvard in these in a few weeks. (Unless you have narrow feet, get the wide version).

Finally after suffering through expensive shoes that let the terrain punish the soles of my feet, now I own the shoe that doesn't. I am 62 and walk with a weighted vest and heavy hand weights on a gravel road. Sturdy lasts that are curved for a normal stride. They don't need to be flexible, the shoe is already molded for a normal step. I didn't need to break in these shoes. These shoes broke in the road!

These boots have a much too narrow sole making uneven ground dangerous and that's what I hike. Slippery sole on the slightest wet conditions. They stayed waterproof for about a year but I really don't know how long because I didn't take them out in wet weather. These boots aren't worth the money, any money.

Great Boot sturdy yet lightweight. Took about a day of hard hiking in Hells Canyon to break in. Feet felt good and ready for the next day. Boot seems to run a least half size small I wear an 11-11 1/2 had to order a 12. Compares to Meindls but runs a whole size smaller 11 meindl 12 Sasslong. About 8inches tall overall would be nice if it was a 10 inch boot.

I bought these for archery elk hunting the rocky mountains, while breaking them in I found them more comfortable than my everyday Redwing boots so I wear them 3-4 days a week at work 11 hours a day. While hiking I found the first stream I came to and stood in 5" of water, never had a leak after 3 minutes. I have used Meindl and Lowa, but choose these when lacing up. The good fit and tall toe box gives my toes room to move, while I usually wear a 11.5 4E width, the 11.5 wide were perfect. Excellent boot I would recommend to anyone.

These boots took a couple of days to break in (as you would expect with most quality footware). Any chance I get, you will usually find me blazing a trail off the beaten path, or boulder scrambling. These Asolo Sasslong Gore-Tex Backpacking Boots offer great support for all day comfort even when packing extra gear. I also work out of a construction/maintainance department and after spending all day on concrete, they still feel just as comfortable. (Liked em' so much that I bought a second pair right away). I would like to thank those at Sierra Trading Post for their outstanding customer service and for offering such a great product at such a reasonable price.

These seem to be really great boots. They feel little narrow but does not seem to be a big issue. I still did not fully break them in so that might fix the feeling of narrow shoe. Even though little pricey they are worth it.

These are some serious boots. I purchased them for an upcoming backpacking trip on Mt. Whitney, and I expect them to serve well. The insoles are thin, so I added a 3/4 insole with arch support under the existing one, which improved the comfort and fit. The soles seem super stiff and I'm hoping they'll become a little more flexible with use. I ordered a half size up from my normal shoe to accomodate medium thickness socks, and they fit well. I do about one trip a year and expect to get at least 10 years out of them.
