Asolo Smarty Gore-Tex® Hiking Boots - Waterproof (For Women)

I purchased these boots for a hiking trip in Costa Rica, during the rainy season. I had read that it was good to break them in around the house for at least 30 mins. Which I did. They start to mold around your foot, & become nice and snug. I'm extremely happy with my boots & hopefully will find more reasons to where them. The only negavite was that you can see a bit of the glue around the sole of the boot. But I'm not purchasing the shoe for aesthetic reasons.

I sent them back because of the narrow, tapered toe box; also they did not have a sturdy feel to them.

So far, so good. When I received the boots I did notice that there was excess glue on the sole and they seemed to be a bit sloppy when put together. It was not worth complaining about because this is a work shoe for me but if you're worried about aesthetics, definitely check that out. Otherwise the shoe looks and feels great! My husband also has Asolo brand boots and loves his-hence why I went with this brand. So far I've used them for indoor and outdoor work and they have been excellent especially when wearing for long periods at at time.

DO NOT order a half size smaller- they are true to size. I had to send the first pair back, as i did order the half size smaller. They are a bit narrow, but i hope they will break in and give me some room. They are wonderfully light weight- feels like you have nothing on your feet!

Haven't had a chance to wear these hiking yet but they seem lightweight and comfortable. I'm looking forward to doing some hiking in them soon!

I'm writing this for my girlfriend. I own a pair of Asolo FSN 85's, and they are awesome. We stopped at the outlet store in Cheyenne on our way to Nevada because she needed a decent pair of hiking boots. Out of Asolo's Womens line, this is the pair she went with. It was a mistake. These boots were used for field work in Nevada wilderness. Day 1, she noticed that the boots were already looking worn. Day 2, the *stiching* was already coming undone. Some the the material was folding down off the shoe making a large gap, making a nice little entry for sand to makes its way in... Sand, some rock, and sagebrush should not cause this kind of wear on ANY boot in two days. TWO DAYS! Looking at the boots, most people would think she'd had them for years. I've had mine just as long, and used them in the same terrain, and mine still look new, albeit dusty. Do yourself a favor, look at other models but this, unless the harshest terrain you plan to use them on is paved trails.

This shoe felt comfortable from the moment I put it on. I have a narrow foot and it fit great. Great value, too.
