The day before I ordered the Asolo Synchro boots from STP I had gone to several outdoor retailers with the intention of buying a pair of hiking boots for an upcoming backpacking trip. I tried on several popular brands and sizes ranging from 9 to 9.5 with varying widths. I was unable to find any bo... Read More

These were my first pair of hiking boots and they did not disappoint. I took them out hiking 15 miles in the Ozarks with no issues. My friend thought I would certainly get a few blisters, but there were none to speak of. Highly recommend

First pair I ordered was a 10 1/2 W, to big. Returned them for a 10 W. WAY to narrow. Customer service told me they were not wide and exchanged those for another pair that were supposed to be wide; no luck. Now I just want my money back. Too gun shy to try again, EVER. Too bad

5th pair of asolo boots 2 for me ,2 for my two boys, one for my best friend. Can't beat this brand extremely comfortable and they do not fit loose like your wearing a big box on your feet like some brands.no break in required

So far so good. I have only put on about 50 miles so far on these boots but I am very satisfied with them. I like the high ankle support along with the hard toe so I can kick sticks and rocks off of the trail as I hike. They are a little stiff out of the box but I expect that from a quality boot. They are not the most breathable boot but I would rather have a boot where I don't feel things when I kick them. A size 12 was perfect for my foot as I don't know anymore where to get a 12 or 13 with any shoe. Will have to see how long they last but right now five stars!

  • Question “Do you have these boots 10.5”

Asked on 4/17/2016 11:27:28 AM by Billy from new york
    • Answer We do not currently have these in a 10.5. Due to the nature of the closeout business, we often receive items in limited quantities. Therefore, popular sizes and colors can sell out quickly. Occasionally we are able to reorder a product, but closeout items are typically unable to be reordered. We suggest signing up for the My Updates as the best way to monitor incoming products. You will receive email notifications of our newest stock items.

  • Question “I wear a 9 medium/wide shoe what should I order in the boot? Thanks”

Asked on 10/18/2015 9:14:10 PM by Jim Newell from Austin tx
    • Answer Prob 9/5 wide. I have 8.5 wide feet and I wear 9. I also have an asolo 95 that's in 8.5 and my feet feel very crunched after a long day. With my Synchro size 9, I had no issues.

    • Answer Hi,

I wear a 12 medium and I ordered a 12 wide and the boot fits perfect. I would order a 9 wide and it should fit you perfect.

      Thanks!

    • Answer I wear very consistently in Asolo a 10 1/2 medium and this fit comfortably without being loose, yet long enough to handle the very steep downhill grit and not make my toes bleed. Climbed Wheeler at 66!

    • Answer I usually wear a normal 10.5 but I bought an 11 wide. I love them

    • Answer The regular boots are not Wide. I normally wear size 9.5 and the boots fit well. At first just by looking at them I was concerned that they were going to be narrow but they weren’t. With a ruler my feet measure 4 inches at the widest part and 10 inches long. My toes don’t hit the end when going downhill either. I consider them a good fit for my feet. Don’t forget they are a stiff boot.

    • Answer hey these shoes are true to fit, in length , but I got the standard not wide and they are a little snug I normally wear 2-pairs of socks hiking and with these I can only wear 1-pair, hope this helps.

    • Answer These boots seem to me to be a good compromise on terrain handling. Great tread for muck handling, relatively soft (compared to old Vibram material), so small surface imperfections provide traction. They aren't felt soles for walking on slippery rocks, like they put on waders, but I do believe these provide great traction. I've got about 150 trail miles on mine, they work great on the rocky trails I frequent in the Cascades and Olympics.

    • Answer The grip on these is great, though the compound is almost too soft as the soles wear quickly on rock. Crampons attach easily on these also. I now own 3 pairs, they have been a great all around boot.
      They run narrow!
