    Pros:
Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot
    Best Uses:
    Everyday, Mixed Terrain
    Describe Yourself:
    Recreational Walker/Hiker
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I use them for daily morning walks with my dog--and for casual wear anytime. Good traction and stability, although the factory insoles provide little arch support. I swapped them out for a pair of Rieker insoles, which are much better for my feet (I have high arches). These ran smaller than my other Asolo shoes, and I had to reorder one size larger to get a good fit.

I bought these shoes for walking and hiking. I wore them for the first time for a 5-mile walk. They were comfortable from the start. (They are more comfortable with thicker cotton gym socks.) My first hike was up Grouse Mountain in Vancouver. The trail is steep with mixed terrain (definitely not paved). The shoes had excellent traction and were comfortable. Although they are sturdy shoes, they are not intended for strenuous rock climbing. They are not clunky or heavy and are attractive enough for general casual wear as well. I have a fairly narrow foot so this might not be the right shoe for you if you have very wide feet. I haven't had the shoes long enough to comment on their durability over time.

Been looking for lightweight Goretex hiking shoes. These were quite comfortable (bit of break-in needed) and the Goretex works well against heavy dew, shallow puddles. Good traction on dry dirt, rocks, woodland, mud, BUT rather poor on wet slippery rocks. An EXTREME test is algae-covered jetty rocks, and they were no better than standard running shoes - I had hoped for better, being avid surf fisherman. Otherwise, these are my standard light hikers!

It has a sewing or design defect that produces a small, hard protrusion near the top of the tongue that make wearing the shoe very uncomfortable for my right foot. I wore it one night around the house and it never became comfortable. I will return.
