It has a sewing or design defect that produces a small, hard protrusion near the top of the tongue that make wearing the shoe very uncomfortable for my right foot. I wore it one night around the house and it never became comfortable. I will return.

Been looking for lightweight Goretex hiking shoes. These were quite comfortable (bit of break-in needed) and the Goretex works well against heavy dew, shallow puddles. Good traction on dry dirt, rocks, woodland, mud, BUT rather poor on wet slippery rocks. An EXTREME test is algae-covered jetty rocks, and they were no better than standard running shoes - I had hoped for better, being avid surf fisherman. Otherwise, these are my standard light hikers!

I bought these shoes for walking and hiking. I wore them for the first time for a 5-mile walk. They were comfortable from the start. (They are more comfortable with thicker cotton gym socks.) My first hike was up Grouse Mountain in Vancouver. The trail is steep with mixed terrain (definitely not paved). The shoes had excellent traction and were comfortable. Although they are sturdy shoes, they are not intended for strenuous rock climbing. They are not clunky or heavy and are attractive enough for general casual wear as well. I have a fairly narrow foot so this might not be the right shoe for you if you have very wide feet. I haven't had the shoes long enough to comment on their durability over time.

I use them for daily morning walks with my dog--and for casual wear anytime. Good traction and stability, although the factory insoles provide little arch support. I swapped them out for a pair of Rieker insoles, which are much better for my feet (I have high arches). These ran smaller than my other Asolo shoes, and I had to reorder one size larger to get a good fit.

I wear these year 'round riding my bike to work in all kinds of weather, rain or shine. They keep my feet dry and warm in the winter and are not too hot in the summer. Very dry even riding in the rain. I also hike and walk the dogs in them and cut the lawn in an old pair. I pretty much wear them all the time, 365 days a year. This is my third pair. A good solid shoe.

I've only had these shoes for about two weeks. I purchased them for a monthlong walking tour of Italy that begins next week. So far, after walking about ten miles total around Chicago, I've been very pleased with their performance. I have a narrow size 13 foot, and these Asolo's (in medium) fit like a glove. The sole is extremely grippy on pavement and rock, and the cushioning is very comfortable.

While hiking in a desert canyon the shoes did not hold their traction in areas that had water on the rocks that you had to climb. Other than that they were very good. Oh, they are a little difficult to get on, but once on they are very comfortable shoes.
