I wear these boots every day at work, inside, outside, on a lot of concrete, shoveling snow, operating heavy machinery. They are very comfortable right out of the box and are serving me well. Can't go wrong with this boot.

I use these boots for construction in Colorado. They have held up well through tough conditions. They have a hard toe for protection and are warmer than I expected..

I have seen comments about how stiff they are or about how they are for ice climbing/Everest type adventures... I'm not trying to sound harsh here, but these are not hiking and/or ice climbing boots. Using these on flat terrain is punishment. These are solid lower elevation mountaineering boots. I have used them in summits of Mount Rainier in Washington (14,410 feet) and they performed perfectly. They are nimble, but stiff enough for crampon use and carrying loads. They accept contact strap crampons extremely well. They perform exceptionally well for me on the mountain. The only concern I have with them is that my toes get cold at altitude, which is normal for a non-plastic boot. These boots were plug and play, though I did break them in before any climbing/mountaineering.

This is a great pair of mountaineering boots. They are way to stiff for hiking, but would be o.k. for a long approach. I didn't need to half size up like I did on all of my other asolo's. There are some other comments about the tongue ripping out, but if you are carefull I don't think it will be a problem.

These boots are pretty amazing. I just purchased my second pair. My first pair lasted over 3 years of use and abuse. These are mountaineering boots, the soles are stiff, they are supposed to be. They are not the best boot for long distance on trail hikes. I spend more time off trail in Idaho's rugged backcountry and canyons than I do on trail. They keep your feet dry and will keep your feet warm IF you are active. Too hot for use in the summer around here but there usually isn't a need for Gore-Tex anyhow. I use insoles b/c I have high arches. I prefer mountaineering boots to backpacking boots for the type of work I do. In summary: Good support, good traction, waterproof, not the most comfortable

These are probably great boots. These seem to be built with excellent materials and with credible standards. However, these things are CLOD HOPPERS!!! They are like ski boot stiff and TOTALLY useless to an average hiker or backpacker. They are strictly for ice climbing or Everest like adventures. I should have done some research off site to learn their purpose. Hopefully someone will read this and not make the same mistake when selecting or looking for a top of the line backpacking boot.
