I own two different pairs of cold weather mountaineering boots from La Sportiva. One is too warm for mountains like Rainier, and the other is too stiff for long hikes. The Titans are great to walk in (for a stiff boot) but not overkill for moderate peaks. More room in the toe box than the Scarpa boots I've tried. And relatively light.

So far, these boots have done everything I've asked. I've pushed them through some serious slop (late spring in the Northwest) and they've kept my feet dry and happy. They edge well on rock, though if you're looking for a boot primarily for alpine rock, you may find these too heavy and bulky. They really shine in the steep snow, giving good traction on the hard pack, even without crampons, and a beefy enough toe to kick steps all day. They were comfortable out of the box, though getting them laced tightly and evenly has turned out to be a tough task, especially with cold fingers. All in all, I'd buy them again... especially at this price.

I use these boots to hunt all over Alaska. They are awesome for packing out heavy loads and for climbing steep terrain. I use them in snow, rain, and sunny days. My feet always stay dry. With a pair of good boot gaiters my feet stayed dry for a seven day hunting trip. Very nice and great support for climbing up steep terrain.

I bought them two days before heading to Kodiak Island for a hunting trip And they were awesome. The only thing I would do different and normally do is wear them a little before going on trip. They were just a little tough on my heal spers. They were warm with just wool sox on some brutally cold days and held up great through the rain and streams. Everything could ask for in the mountains as well. Awesome boots for the price..

I've had a pair of Titans for approx 1 month. following break-in they have been out on a Sub-Alpine SAR Job, 3 days of Alpine Tahr Hunting, and a couple of walks with the family in the foothills. These boots are warm, dry, stiff (a great thing in steep terrain) and exceptionally comfortable. Great product!
