I thought about buying another brand name boot that guarantees FREE trade-ins, but the Asolo's are such fantastic quality with trusted reliability, that I would ONLY upgrade to an identical pair. I've NEVER had heel hot spots. I have walked in rivers and the boot has remained waterproof. I've hiked over a dozen times on the rock-biting trails of Mt. Katahdin and the bottoms of the boot held firm. LOVE 'EM!

Reviewed by Pop from CA on Friday, May 24, 2013This is a great shoe. Would have given 5 stars. Plenty of support, well constructed, nice grippy sole. No heel slippage when laced accordingly. Nice looking. True to size. fit good right out of the box. All great right? Problem in paradise is that the first pair I ordered had this popping noise in one of the shoes at the end of the stride as the heel left the ground. Very annoying sound. So I sent them back and thought it was a fluke.... received the new pair ...same issue....sent them back. By the way, STP has got to be one of the best companies I have ever used for customer service. They took care of every problem and went the extra mile with me. I will probably try these shoes later hoping that stock has changed over and the defect is gone.

Reviewed by TMex1971 from Washington State on Friday, May 24, 2013Comfortable and blister-free from the first time you put them on. Sturdy and impervious to whatever the trail throws at you. I got these for my dad after putting my FSN 95s through a few hikes and he is a happy camper. Traction is great and they don't feel heavy underfoot.
