YES I have a pair of $300 Zamberlan's that are my favorite do to the comfort, support, durability and most of all the Vibram aggresive sole patern. ASOLO FSN 95'S GORETEX are the best boot for the money. I have used these boots with a 40-50 Lb. Pack for numerous Pack Trips at 12,000 Feet. Light weight, durable, breathable, and no break in period. Asolo has different widths. I have a narrow foot and they fit my foot perfect. Having past and current Ankle Problems I have use these Boots for every Day Use. I have owned half a dozen of these boots and have always been Happy. The sole will last 12- 16 months with everday use. If you do week- end hikes and 2-4 weeks of packing a year, the soles will last 20-26 mo.'s. When the sole wears out they feel like slippers, I then use them around the house for Painting ect. If any one has ever had a pair of Old School Raichle SKY WALKERS, these Boots are very simular. Very well Made in Romania. The soles will wear out before the Top. Hope this rating was helpful. Happy Trails for all!

I've backpacked in the Grand Cayon the last two years and these boots have been great. I'm also wearing these boots to work in. Oh by the way I bought these boots for next big hiking trip. I'm still wearing the boots I bought 2 years ago.

Reviewed by Teton hiker from Idaho on Sunday, May 19, 2013Just used the shoes on their first hike. 3.5 miles on an old volcano crater. Great mixture of hard, rough, smooth, and loose soil and rock. These boots handled it all in great form. Great ankle support. Looking forward to using them on some long hikes this summer.

Reviewed by Dogman from Northern California on Saturday, May 18, 2013These boots are excellent quality and fill the need for hiking and trail use. They fit well and show very good build quality. They require little or no break in time and are very comfortable. I think they will be great for trail hiking and general outdoor use, and should be very durable. I would not use them for backpacking or rough terrain and would choose a stiffer heavy duty boot.

These are the same in that respect. I did get a wide size, as several customers mentioned how they run narrow. And that seems to be the case. About the only thing I don't like is the four nylon fabric loops for the laces, while the rest are metal hooks. I wonder how long they'll last.
