The top opening is far smaller than the one on the Sherpa bag I have, and the entire bag is small. My dog--18 pounds--can sit up with her head and torso outside the bag, but it would be cruel to try to squish her in the bag. My medium Sherpa bag fits her perfectly, but it's rigid and doesn't fold down when not needed. The ASPCA bag will fold down flat, which can be convenient, but it doesn't hold its shape well. Still looking for the perfect pet carrier. . . .
