“ambivalent”

“A dozen times now I've tried on the coat and cannot decide whether or not to keep it. The garment is well-made, but I worry about the buttons, and the tiny zipper is difficult to engage. It's warm enough for late-fall and early-spring use in Michigan (or winter, with heavy sweater under it), but zipping up the collar all the way for cold and windy weather would make the wearer look silly. It gives the appearance of stylishness but it simply hangs on me, like a big bag, with no tailoring at the waist. Sleeves can be turned up if they are too long and still look good, but are longer than necessary and a bit restrictive. Long length is attractive for walking but sitting is awfully tough without unbuttoning and unzippering. I paid "only" [$] for the coat and I know that's supposed to be a bargain, but it doesn't seem that way to me. Writing this evaluation has been a good exercise for me in arriving at a conclusion--I'm returning the coat. My wife and I have been buying from STP "forever," and it's our favorite vendor. We know that some purchases work out and others don't. [...]”
