This is a really nice coat, but it is small across the shoulders and chest so you cannot reach or wear a sweater under coat. I am not big in the back, chest or shoulders so the coat does run small in that area. Everywhere else felt good.

This coat is amazing. It is so warm, but it is actually lightweight. I had heard this before, about genuine shearling, but I didn't believe it. Seeing (or in this case feeling) is believing. The color, quality, and look are all amazing. This coat should sell for 3 x what it is selling for at Sierra Trading. Even if you go to Spain or Andorra, where this style originates and the best shearlings can still be had; you will not beat the price (yes, even in Tax free Andorra). If you want a shearling coat & they have your size; buy this coat.

Beautiful coat but I normally wear a 2, ordered in a 4 and feared would be too big and had to return coat as it fit but just fit, not the way a coat should fit, too snug. Would need next size up to accomodate winter clothing underneath.

I bought this coat in November 2008, so it has now been through 2 winter seasons with me and I just looked back and realized how happy I am with it! It is definitely of great quality. I've put it through some heave duty. It traveled with me in aiports, trains and buses and I haven't had any problems with it. The only thing that I had to do - re-saw the buttons after the first season because they were getting loose. It is also surprisingly lightweight for how warm it is. How warm is it? I've worn it in Canada, Russia, New York in pretty cold weather. Up to -10C (14F) is easy (with something more substantial than a T-shirt underneath:). Up to -15C (5F) is still OK if you are otherwise dressed warmly (sweater, scarf, hat, winter boots). For temperatures lower than that you probably need another coat, not the least because it is too short for lower tempatures (it just covers ones rear). I am a size 6, but after reading the previous reviews ordered size 8 and it fit perfectly. Sleeve lentth is just right.

Fashionably-structured, high-quality shearling coat that presents a well-dressed image; expecially with like leather boots. Except for the seat, the sizing is rather trim. I normally wear petite sizes and needed to exchange a size 4 for a 6, which works perfectly.

This is a very nice shearling coat! While it is generous in the seat area, this works well for me. The roomy seat allows you to get in and out of the car easier. It keeps you warm on cold, snowy, wind blown days. The hood is a nice option; it really does lie flat and is not bulky. This is a reasonably priced shearling coat. Buy it - you will not be dissappointed!

After having read previous reviews, and finally buying the coat, I can see how people react differently. First, the dark brown is a lovely color, the inside is plush (much like Ugg boots) and it is warm! But it is not the supersoft, lightweight merino shearling, so it does not really drape well. Also, while it fit me perfectly in the shoulders and chest, it was loose in the middle and hips. So if you are a fairly "straight" build it feels a bit boxy and is not a terribly attractive cut - not awful, but not very flattering. For someone heavier in the waist and hips, though, this would be a godsend. I can fit a very bulky sweater underneath. My biggest complaint: silver-toned grips on the hood drawstring that look cheap and awful with the dark brown, What were they thinking? The hood is also a bit skimpy. I don't see pocket bumps. Overall, this is not a top-notch shearling coat, but it is nice, and still a very good price. Great for casual wear.
