“I live in a rural cold winter area. As I wrote above I could not wear it when I got it and frankly I forgot about it, but doing some mending recently I wondered if I could get the elastic out of the brim. I opened it slightly along the brim seam inside and found no elastic but rather that the brim was wrapped around an absurd wad of polyester tightly stuffed inside it making the roll. I pulled it out - it came out easily - and the brim folded up naturally into a gentle flap all around. Now I wear it all the time.”
