Aston Spanish Merino Shearling Coat with Toscana Collar and Cuffs (For Women)

This coat is perfect for anyone who has broad, "swimmer's shoulders", which I happen to have. It's always been a problem to find a cut broad enough to accommodate my shoulders. The coat IS cut roomy. Moving the buttons over can customize that. But, the sleeve length is comical - the sleeves extend 4 inches past my finger tips, (and I have long arms!) the designer must have been thinking of an orangutan when he/she designed it! But, considering that I saved almost a grand by buying this coat at Sierra, I think a quick trip to a good tailor to shorten the sleeves is worth it. The coat is warm, not too heavy, the leather is beautiful. So, overall, I am glad I bought it and it is worth spending $50 to have the sleeves shortened. Where else are you going to find an expensive shearling at 75% off? I love Sierra's deals - in this economy, it matters.

That is a beautiful coat, but I wear size 16, bought size 14 and it was too big, the shoulders are to broad and sleeves are too long. I exchanged it to size 12. It fits fine but the shoulders are too broad again and the sleeves are too long and it chokes me in the neck.

The coat has a broader shoulder like it was made for a male not a female. The sleeves are too long and shoulders are too low. I wear size 16, bought size 14. It was 2 size too big. I exchange for size 12 and again shoulders are too big the sleeves are too low and it a liitle bit too tight in chest.

That is a beautiful coat,very light, warm, well done, but the shoulders are too broad and because of that the sleeves are too long. They were 7" below my fingertips. I have long arms. I am size 16, ordered size 14 and it was 2 size too big. Otherwise it is a dream coat.

My husband ordered this for me. Late last year I got a Spanish Shearling coat with Toscana Collar and Cuffs in brown and I just love it. It is beautiful, warm and very soft. It is also reasonably light weight. The deal on this coat was excellent and he couldn't resist getting me one in black. By comparison, this coat is not nearly as soft. The fur is somewhat irritating to my over-sensitive skin, not like the other which feels soft like my himalayan cat. The fur on the collar and cuffs is not nearly as long and soft as my other coat. The sleeves on both coats are long, which seems common in these coats, and I like extra length as it keeps my wrists warm. The quality of the fur in this coat just doesn't come close to the other, and I will return it.

Unfortunately I am forced to return this gorgeous coat I wish I could keep! I don't know what sizing chart they used, but she must have been an Amazon! I am not petite and you literally cannot see my entire hand - that's how long the sleeves are & the cicumference is at least 2 sizes off. Very disappointed.

I ordered this because the description says speanish merino shearling - well, that's wrong. This is some other shearling, most likely American shearling - VERY HEAVY coat. Even the tag does not say speanish merio shearling - and trust me, given spanish merino is ultra expensive, the coat tags ALWAYS identifies that if that's the case. Spanish shearling is usually ultrasoft and light (weighs like a heavy cashmere coat) - this was neither. The shearling was coarser rather than lux, and just really heavy - so the $1495 retail price listed is unrealistic - may be $500 to $600, given the quality. I ordered the coat in black and did not like the fur at collar and sleeves either - texture was weird. Runs roomy - i usually wear a size 8/10 in regular clothes and 6 fit me fine. Overall, not what i was expecting at all, and the description was inaccurate - so I returned it.

This jacket did not meet expectations. Description said spanish merino shearling (the most expensive type of shearling), which tends to be ultralight and silky, yet warm. This jacket was quite heavy, and the tag did not even say it was spanish merino. The toscana fur on the collar and sleeves were jet black and shiny, and I found the look and texture unattractive (more like hair than fur). I usually wear an 8 or 10, and the 6 fit me fine (little snug on hips). I am 5'2" and sleeves were may be 1" too long. I am returning it basically because I am looking for something with ultralight speanish merino shearling, and this felt more like traditional heavier american shearling.

I wear a regular 12 and size 6 fits me in this coat. I am returning it though because it is not what I expected. It's too heavy; I suspect this is American, not Spanish shearling and it's impossible to tell the origin of the leather from the tag. The black one has a rough motocyclist look to it and is not classy looking.
