Atelier High-Collar Jacket (For Women)

Thought that this jacket had a really great idea by the cut away at the bottom exposing the blouse underneath. It looked like it would allow room for hips and give some leeway for a shorter torso. Looks can be deceiving. I am a petite, not heavy anymore, wearing single digit clothing(except for Lafayette 148). This jacket looked awful on me. I bought the same size in a different jacket from Atelier recently with the fit being fine except for sleeve length. Everything about this fit was off so the jacket looked horrible. A bigger size wouldn't have fixed the situation. You need small shoulders and really thin arms for this one. Other than that it is a well made garment with high quality material just like my other Atelier. Obviously, sent it back. Recommending with reservations.

As a long-limbed person, I love the Atelier brand. Their jackets run very long in the sleeve (and the pants have a generous inseam). You should be aware that if you have shorter-than-average arms, you will most likely have to get the sleeves hemmed. The jacket is quite nice, but I can't get the collar to stand up like it does in the picture (and the title of the item).

Jacket actually is part of a suit (pants are item 1938A-01-8, "besom pkt pant)-description of both items doesn't make this obvious. Matching pants give washing instructions, but jacket has a "dry clean only" label with the same fabric (really nice -a lined viscose polyester)- perhaps it is washable as well. Together, they look and feel great. Soft, knit look, cut nicely and flattering. No pockets in the suit jacket. Both pants and jacket are fully lined and structured enough for business wear. Sleeve goes to my knuckle, even after I ordered smaller size - I may get it shortened. Styling/construction is unique and very sharp looking. You can't use the bottom 2 buttons, and you need to wear a shirt underneath or it will gap at the belly. Returned my regular size in pants and jacket for 1 size smaller. Great suit for a great price. I love Atelier's quality & style.
