    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I ordered my standard size and this was much too large around the waist. Furthermore I did not care for the cut, which was higher than I expected on the waist. I returned item. Fabric was not what I expected and I may have returned it even if it fit well.

    Had another pair in this brand and size 10 fit just fine--this style needed a 12. Regular are way too long--reordered petite and will still have to hem them up about a 1/2 inch to keep them from dragging on the ground with flat type shoes. The charcoal is very dark and the brown is very dark. Both look black if not in the right light.

    Size down, got it right on my second try. These run large. I usually wear a 12 or 14. Tried a 12 first and they were way too big in the waist. Size 10 fit fine though they are still way too long and will need to be hemmed--not difficult to do but annoying.

    The annotation of "full size down" is exactly right, as I ordered both that size and my regular size, and went swimming in my regular size. Otherwise, these are lovely slacks, and I appreciate the sizing info.
