Atelier Mini-Check Skirt Suit (For Women)

Looks great. Has large hidden flat snaps on the jacket which are novel and don't look like snaps until you are very close up. Very flattering and attractive.

I ordered the suit because of the sale and thought I'd use the jacket only. When I tried on the skirt and jacket, it felt so good that I wore it for a job interview. A bright scarf at the neck made it look even better. Note that the skirt sits below the waist so that the skirt was not as short as pictured--which I like.

This outfit was ideal for a recent special social event. The coat sleeves required an alteration to accommodate a 'petite' body size.

The quality of this suit (suit and lining fabrics and tailoring) are fantastic. Taking it out of the box, I really, really wanted this suit to fit! The skirt was perfect. However, the jacket just didn't work for me. I am a petite but can normally wear regular jackets but the sleeve cuffs have piping which would make altering the length a big job. I didn't like the high neck because when I even slightly bent forward the front of the jacket bulged out which was not very flattering. Perhaps if worn by someone larger chested than I (I am pretty average) it would look a lot better. The snap closures on the jacket didn't bother me in principle and they are high quality, seem to be sewn on securely, and the jacket flap laid flat like it should, but I was really afraid I was going to tear the fabric trying to get the jacket unsnapped (I didn't, though), I had to pull so hard. Getting it snapped in the first place was not an easy task, either. I trust the snaps would be a little easier to use after a few wearings, but at first, they are way too difficult to use. My recommendation for this item is based on it happening to fit someone well. If it had fit me, I would have tolerated the snaps.
