Atlas Aspect Snowshoes - 28"
Closeouts. Atlas' Aspect snowshoes are designed for optimum backcountry performance and convenience, with an aggressive sawtooth perimeter and shovel-shaped prongs with razor-sharp ice tips that bite into steep, icy terrain, PackFlat bindings that accommodate large snowboard or mountaineering boots, and an included utility strap that lashes your gear together or your snowshoes to your pack.
Reviewed by Thrash9er from Denver, CO on Thursday, December 5, 2013After "experimenting" with friends snowshoes in the backcountry of Colorado last year, I had my eye set on something that will tackle everything thing from fluff to crust. With the aggressive sawtooth perimeter and 225lb capacity I believe these will do the trick. NOW... I haven't put them to the test yet so I will update my review within the next month or two, but I have a good feeling "Overall Rating" will improve to 5 stars.
Reviewed by Backcountry Rob from New Jersey on Wednesday, October 30, 2013The Aspect is a step up from the Atlas 8 series snowshoes we already have. The binding is not as easy to use, but being able to pack it flat is a nice improvement. The additional float (28" v 24") is great when carrying a larger pack and added traction from the frame are benefits when we go farther off trail. The heal elevator seems like a good addition - although I've not yet had to use it. The Sierra Trading Post price was great!
Reviewed by Mike from Boise on Tuesday, June 25, 2013Have had these for a season and love them. Great bindings that don't slip or require frequent adjustment, the rubber bands that secure the bindings seem to be holding up very well. The heel lifts - don't know how I did without them - and the perimeter traction is terrific, especially noticeable laterally on crust/ice. I noticed snow/ice build-up on the top of the bindings but amazingly not so much on the toe "crampons" or perimeter teeth. Also, I wore these with mountaineering boots - no problemo, you could probably wear these with any kind of boot including snowboard boots. And they do pack flat, especially if you keep the rubber belt that they ship with (flattens the bindings together better, then lash them to your pack).
