Great snowshoes. I needed a nice compact pair for normal activities. My other pair are a large, long pair, that are great in very deep snow, but more than I needed for normal activities. This pair fit the bill perfectly. I love them. They are easy to put on and stay securely tight.

Have several pairs of sshoes. These appear to be well made. Bought them in early summer, so I haven't used them yet. Appear to be very well made. Impressed with everything but the bindings. I'm hard on equipment, and these bindings don't look like they will hold up. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong!

Used as a general, occasional-use snowshoe. I prefer to use it where a snowshoe is necessary -- deep powder. The size/ weight description is OK for packed powder -- where a snowshoe is not really necessary. I found it sinks to my shin in shin deep powder. (My weight dressed is @ 160#, and I used a "medium" size shoe). I also have a 48" "Maine" wood & rawhide snowshoe. Other than this, the snowshoe is well made and well designed. Good binding system.

Although this is my first pair of snowshoes I am an avid hiker. For this reason I don't really have a base line to compare these to others snowshoes. However, they do seem well made. I've used them twice and so far am quite happy. They have a very aggressive crampon that works extremely well on steep terrain and the fact they are only 24 inches long makes them fairly easy to attach to my pack. I bought them to be able to access the backcountry during spring and early summer and I believe they will work extremely well for this purpose.
