The temperature for the day ranged from 5-18 degrees. If I hadn't had hand warmers inside the mittens, my fingers would have been frozen in no time. These are definitely waterproof, but you either need to layer another pair of gloves/mittens underneath or use hand warmers if you're planning to be outside for an extended period of time.

Reviewed by outside eyes from Sturbridge, MA on Wednesday, December 26, 2012While good, when compared to another, I realized they are not molded - as if to hold a ski pole, thus had unnecessary bulk in palm area. Also a pocket to hold a hot pack on the back of the hand is a bonus worth looking for in another product. I hadn't tried them..but when someone gave me another option I could more easily see the down side to these. I'm sure they aren't bad gloves..just seem to be better out there.
