I bought this for skiing and the product is great. keeps your fingers warm unlike those warm packs. you do need to purchase rechargable batteries so that you don't have to keep purchasing new batteries for each trip. Great product.

Gloves work but they could be warmer in the fingers. I haven't used them in extreme cold yet.

Buying this product was kind of an experiment. I am a 63 year male in good health with low-normal blood pressure, so I get cold fingers. This was a great deal on sale but the reality did not pan out. [...]My decision - buy the chemical hot pads. They are lighter, have a good 1 day finite life and are uber-reliable. These gloves take 6xAA batteries = $2.50-$3.00 for a days usage and are unreliable. The heating element is OUTSIDE the thinsulite insullation, so 1/2 of the energy is used to heat the outside air. The batteries are heavy and even the good ones (Duracell)work poorly in the cold. I went out on an 8-12F degree day and my finger tips were very cold. Used them for 2.5 hrs. Then I tried again another day (25F) for two hrs. The batteries died after one hour and my fingers were still cold. My opinion - they need a lithium ion battery pack (rechargable) and they need to put the heater elements INSIDE the Thinsulite or within two layers of the Thinsulite. save U'r $.

these are the warmest gloves without the electonics. They are very good with the heater but the batteries do not last for long. The design is not bad and the battery pack is easily removed. Comparable gloves cost $100's. this is a very good deal.

I have always struggled with cold fingers, even when using good gloves with liners or using handwarmers in my gloves. For the first time I had a ski experience with warm hands, to the point of getting sweaty until I turned down the heat level. Only downside is that they are a little heavy on the hands because of the batteries. And of course it means having to pack batteries (and a charger) to carry on the trip.

Greatly improved. Had an earlier version of this product with 1 heat setting that weren't warm enough. These new ones with 2 heat settings are perfect. Order 1 size larger, as I did, and you can wear wool glove liners inside. Extremely soft and comfortable inside, even without liners. Perfect for below zero skiing. If they use up the batteries in a few hours, that's the point...they're generating heat!!! Use alkaline batteries, & carry extras. It beats frostbite any time. Love 'em!!!

My husband was wearing these just to commute to work and back, and after a week of wearing them the left-hand glove (less-used, as he's right-handed!) split between the middle and ring fingers, and between the first and middle finger, leaving holes in both places and thus making them no longer waterproof. They are very warm gloves, and the heaters work well, but they do not hold up to the simplist of tasks... I can't imagine trying to hike or play winter sports with them. I bought them because his hands are very large, and they do come in an extra large that fits his hands.
