August Silk Boiled Wool Jacket - Ruffle Front (For Women)

I like this jacket. It fits me nicely (my hips are ample)and is flattering. The sleeves are a little too long, but that is often the case for me and can be remedied. I was a little surprised to find that it was as lightweight as it was, but it seems durable and warm enough.

This is a stylish vest with interesting colors. I really liked it and it fit well. Unfortunately there is some kind of odd edging added around the armholes and down the edge of the front zipper. It is halfway ruffled. It looks like a facing that wasn't properly done. Very unattractive and it also kept getting stuck in the zipper. I guess this is the "ruffled front" referred to in the title of the vest. I wanted to keep it, but this strange edge made me send it back. You can't see it clearly in the photo. Otherwise a beautiful vest.

This looked so beautiful in the picture. Unfortunately, it just wan't all that flattering on me. It was almost frumpy with all the fabric in front. I also didn't like the brown color...seemed dull. In another color and on another person, maybe.

I love the design of this sweater. Because wool is usually course, I plan to wear a long sleeve blouse or shirt under it. I still think the look of the sweater is gorgeous.

This is one of those things that could look wonderful on the right shape, which would probably be a tall person. On little me it looks like a big floppy towel around the neck. The material is light, not lined, some would find it scratchy. More sweater-like than jacket-like. Runs really big, a medium was 4" too long in the sleeves. Sent it back. The blue color is really nice, a little darker than the screen.

It's too warm in NJ to wear this now but I decided to keep it for future use. The styling is unique and feminine. I personally need some of that in my wardrobe as I tend to wear athletic type apparel. Feel it is true to size. I am not busty. As a short person (5'2") the torso length fit well. The sleeves are a tad long for me but what others would consider the appropriate length. When my arms are down the sleeve comes to the base of my thumb. I also noticed that the sleeve finish is basically just the cut material with a line of stitching 1/8th inch from the end so nothing unravels. That does make it easy to adjust if you need to shorten. I really didn't think that the material was overly scratchy as most boiled wool sweaters usually tend to be. I expect to use this alot in the cooler weather to dress up my everyday look or for going out.

I was hoping to wear this feminine jacket in blue over my basic "little black dress," but there is not enough contrast for that combination to work, as the blue is not royal, but darker. However, I have a dress in almost the identical blue, and I have received compliments on that combination. The jacket works well on an airplane where one does not want a heavy, bulky coat or jacket, but does need something light for warmth. This is perfect for that situation. I did have to turn up the sleeves about 1.5 inches, which is surprising since I have unusually long arms for a woman.

I received lots of compliments on this jacket! It is comfortable and goes with everything. I wear it to work and out on the weekend.

I think of this more as a sweater than a jacket. Very comfortable in my office which tends to be cold worn over a camisole. Another reviewer had commented on the ruffles making one look too big-- I did not find this to be the case. I have already worn this several times
